RIP Sonny Ausman

Slipped Disc is reporting that Sonny Ausman, longtime 2nd trombone with the LA Philharmonic, has passed away. Apparently he passed away on July 31.

Thanks for posting this. Yeah, much beloved Sonny passed away. Never will we hear his droll drawl again. :(

So sad to see this.
I was in the same grade in HS and played with Sonny in Youth Symphony and All-State bands.
He was a tremendous talent at 17 years old and always a generous and compassionate individual.
I was glad to see that he had a very successful career in music.
