Always learn something when Doug speaks. Humorously to me, I find tuba shanks crazy and difficult (I have two tubas, now five mouthpieces, and only one that really works). Took us a couple of tries to get the right sized shanks, but now I need to expand my tuba cup sizes, too.

Hey, it's cool to see a familiar face. Vurl taught tuba lessons in the area I grew up.

I know both of those guys. I went to college with Vurl from 1977 to 1982. I met Doug at TMEA several years ago when buying a mouthpiece from him and have enjoyed visiting over the years. I even was able to have him stop in DFW on his way home from TMEA one year to work with my trombone students when I had a private trombone studio.
