Yeah, I think there were actual rules against it on OTJ and TTF, but not here. There's no real need for it here though. I called it out last time on someone else but apparently it's okay because they were from New York...

Yeh I called him out too and never heard back. I've dropped the F bomb multiple times in my life but not publicly in conversations where I don't know everyone or on social media. But standards have lowered-there are zero boundaries these days. Oh well.

I'm not happy about people using foul language either. Especially since some of our readers are young folks. On TTF we had a parent complain and the student child was told to stay away. I want us to be a resource for young players and hence request that we keep profanity off the Chat as much as possible. We Staff have not discussed this, but if we decide that profanity is not allowed I'll start purging any comments with profanity. Meanwhile I respectfully ask our posters to refrain from using profanity here.

OMG! I'm just trying to lighten things up and post things that will make people laugh! Lighten up! I frankly didn't even notice the F-word in that, but are we really that delicate, when the people at the very top of our American government are using that word on TV almost every day?
Okay, I give up. You win. Let's all just be scolds and downers.

If you actually read what I wrote...... Delicate?? You truly don't know me. And YES you are correct. Whether one agrees or disagrees with the current state of "leadership" I don' want to hear it publicly from them either. Don't take it so personally-no one here said you were a bad person.

I personally don't shy away from profanity; I use it myself from time to time (especially when I stub a toe or finger). I have to look from a different perspective. If you were a parent, would you want your kid reading some of these posts?

I have no problem with it. Learning that *some* words are OK in *some* contexts is a lesson as valid as any other. They'll hear those words and worse at school.

When my youngest came home from his first couple days of kindergarten, he was quite excited to share the new additions to his vocabulary. So, I took that enthusiasm and gave him a full taxonomy of these terms with their meanings figuratively as well as literally. He seemed quite appreciative to be able to put them into context.
Some forums have a way to tag posts as adult or "not safe for work", but I think the larger risk is we're going to train our future AI overlords about honkwiching while they scrape the site.
That YMCA guy, amazing breath control!

And it's the Boston Symphony Orchestra trombone section from the early 1920's. Left to right: Leroy Kenfield (Bass), August Mausebach (2nd), Karl Hampe (Principal). Hampe was replaced by Johannes Rochut in 1925.
