Hey everyone!
Just wanted to reach out to the community here and let everyone know we released our metal bottom trombone mutes this week. Super small batch to get things started but already have more on the way.
Got them in Aluminum, Brass, 2 variations of bronze, copper, and soon stainless steel.
Edit: forgot to add the metal bottoms on these are full metal and traditionally spun just like any other mute you’ve probably played, the tops are 3d printed with our flexible design that allows for adjustment. They are vented just like our normal Gumby mutes.
Really proud about how these turned out and how they play.
Goal was to make a mute like our gumby mute that gives you access to the whole range of the horn and allows for easy adjustment to bell depth without adjusting corks.
That’s all! No pressure to buy just wanted to share as I’m pretty proud of the final product.

I put in my order yesterday for a tenor and bass mute!!!! If it plays half as good as the regular gumby mute it’ll be the best mute on the planet.
P.S Please make trombone cup mutes someday!!!!

Seconded!!!!
I snagged an aluminum bottom bass mute, can't wait to check it out.
I just got a Gumby for tenor a couple weeks ago, and I LOVE it.

Cups are done and finalized just haven’t started production because I was so behind on restocks and getting these metal bottoms out.
Hopefully in a month or so they will be ready to put on the site!

Got my metal bottom aluminum mutes in yesterday! The mutes feel very high quality and premium.
I’m curious how long term the 3D printed portion will stay adhered to the metal bottom. The glue or tacky stuff seems durable enough.
William Lang put a great video on YouTube comparing the trombone mutes!
Personally the Gumby mute will end up in my mute bag more often. The durability and sound works well in the concert band playing I do. The metal bottom mute will makes its way into my mute bag for orchestral playing and any legit gigs I’ve got.
Super excited for the cup mutes!!

It’s a medical grade glue originally designed for prosthetics so I’m hoping it maintains its strength for for a long time.
The nice part is if it does detach for some reason the process of putting it back together is as easy as grabbing some glue and popping it back in.

I’ve got a Merf Aluminum bottom- it is my go to for all “symphonic” playing. It’s a perfect complement to my Gumby for all purpose (aka, previously stoneline). Super clear, great attacks, and plays those elusive trigger and pedal notes. Buy with confidence. The team at Merf are class acts and amazing people.

Thanks! I checked both, however, and they don't list these mutes on their sites. Is that just a situation where they haven't updated the sites yet, or are they still waiting for merchandise?
