When i first saw this 14 years ago I only noticed that it had the name of a Laurel & Hardy movie.

Alessi is a pretty common name in - especially northern - Italy.

Laurel and Hardy did make a movie "The Devil's Brother", also called "Fra Diavolo".

Alessi is also a character in "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure", a comic/show in which nearly every character is named after a musician or band, so...
