The horn has been sold. Thanks!
Hello All:
I have a Holton Tr-180 for sale. The serial number dates it to 1976 (SN: 5355xx). This horn is in very good shape. The slide is smooth and quick (maybe 8 or 9 out of 10?) and the valves work well, with good compression. The Glantz bar, while not my favorite, works fine.
There is one spot where the lacquer is a little dull. It's just over an inch long. It could have been a dent. Maybe the edge was repaired? I can't tell. It's now included in the album. It's pretty difficult to see. But it's something I needed to mention. Beyond that the horn has surface scratches and spots of missing lacquer, as can be seen in the photos. There is also one very small spot on one of the stockings where the plating has worn through. It's bone stock and comes with an E-flat and D slide for the second valve as well as the original case.
There is a ton of info out there on these Holtons. This bass is ready to play and needs nothing. I never have use for it and would rather see it go than sit in my closet.
$1100 for the horn
