TromboneChat Wiki Is Live!

Hi all!
We're very excited to announce that the TromboneChat now powers a Wiki for the archiving of information about brass instruments in general and trombones in particular. You can find this Wiki at https://trombonechat.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page
This is new territory for most of us since it deviates from a forum in terms of function, but we feel that this is an important and useful addition that complements what we talk about here on a daily basis. Please do hang tight and feel free to make recommendations as necessary while we get used to moderating this different format. There are a couple of important points that you should be aware of even if you've edited a Wiki before:
1) The Wiki software does not tie into your login credentials for TromboneChat. This means that if you want to make any edits, you will have to create another account. The process is much simpler than over here though. Please let us know if you have any difficulty and we'll do our best to help you in. If you wish to peruse, feel free to do so without making an account; just as with Wikipedia, we suspect that most users won't end up making it.
2) Edits will only be accepted after approved by a moderator. Unlike Wikipedia, which simply allows anyone to edit because they have a massive number of volunteers to reverse changes and curate content, any changes that are made must be approved by a moderator. This ultimately saves moderator time by not needing to reverse potentially erroneous changes and also allows us to curate 100% of the content on the Wiki.
3) The structure is not yet set in stone. We've came up with what we feel like is a pretty good skeleton; however, there is still a lot of organization that will need to be done. We're completely open to feedback, which can be posted in the discussion section of the Wiki or in the Comments & Suggestions here. We can't guarantee that the change will be made but we want this to be useful for a wide variety of skill levels (and even parents of instrumentalists who are seeking pertinent information).
4)Editing the Wiki is largely the same as other Wikia. If you've edited a Wiki before, you'll probably find yourself quite at home. We've made very few changes, other than those changes designed to help us moderate the content. If you have not, I highly recommend checking out Wikipedia's documentation on how to make edits. It's very thorough and the vast majority of it will apply to our Wiki as it is the same software.
