Shires Slide Question

Question for the hive mind. Having owned a number of Shires slides, I recently purchased one from someone that does NOT have any markings. Is this a normal thing? The top of the leadpipe also looks different than others I have owned. Is there a new design for those too?

It probably had that part replaced. If you order a new part to replace one, it won't be engraved. Are you talking about the threaded ring being different? That also would be unengraged if it was added aftermarket.

Thanks, response much appreciated! I'm thinking that must be it. At very close inspection, it does look as if there as a solder job done at some point. Never would have noticed otherwise.
