Here is a wonderful playing Selmer Bolero. Made in France! Vive la France! Bore is .508, some lacquer loss, no current dings/dents, and both slides work very well. This horns rocks. Looks like a 3B with the curved bell brace but doesn't really sound like one. Bigger, more core, more "grit"! Original case is like a contoured Bach case and is in very good shape. $650 + shipping + any fees

(These are the photos that Vintage88H took before he sold it to me a few years back. I don't think he will mind if I recycle them. Nothing has changed with the horn - but I am happy to take some fresh photos, too!)

I have one of these as my main small bore and recently a professional friend described my playing on it as "sassy." I thought that was an apt description...really fun instrument. Just putting in a good word!

I’ve never owned a King horn and I’ve been thinking about getting one. I’ve had a Conn 6H for a while but I liked the feel and upper register of my buddy’s 3B. Could you elaborate a little more on the comparison of the Bolero vs a 3B?

I picked up a Bolero last year for roughly the same price and it's been a killer player for me. It's my main straight horn for my wedding/events band. Only thing I'm wishing for now is one of these with an F attachment to pop up for sale!

The Selmer Bolero I had played much like Greenbean describes above. It did sound bigger and more resonant than a King 3B. It also had the sizzle of a 3B when I pushed it. But it also had its own "thing". There's something about the character and "core" of some vintage horns like these good ole Bolero's (old Kings, early Conn 6Hs, Williams, etc.) that you can get with the top pro modern horns but it'll cost you more $$. Hope somebody snatches this one while it's here. They are getting scarce...

I love my beat up old Bolero. This one is in so much better condition. I would jump at it if I had the funds. Is it still for sale?
Thank you!
