I am selling my S.E. Shires Tru-bore dependent bass valve section.
The valves are in outstanding mechanical condition, tight, fast, and dent free.
There is a bit of lacquer loss and mild pitting along the goose neck and F valve cap from skin contact.
I had Gary Dafler and Hauer Music do some minor modifications on the valve section. IMO the section was a bit over braced and not as resonate as my dependent axial section. He removed two small braces and it really opened everything up. I always maintain my valves well, so it gets regular oiling and the valves are super quick and quiet.
This is a really nice playing valve section, but I find it difficult to switch back and forth between the axial valves and this so I am going to get a second set of axials.
I am asking $2,000, which includes US shipping (lower 48 states).
I would also consider a trade for a set of Shires in-line axials, but would need to be in excellent condition.
This sale is for the valve section pictured only.
