$3250 or OBO

Tru-Bore valve

T11-5G Bell

.547 gold brass slide with a nickel crook (TB47G)

#2 lead pipe

This horn plays great and would be a good horn for any player! It had a small dent taken out of the bell in January when it was last cleaned. It has been a great horn for me, but it didn't quite fit with the section I have been subbing with recently (Baltimore Symphony).

Contact me via text @ five zero three nine eight three zero one zero three

Thanks!

Is the bell a TII-5GVNY (Vintage New York)? Or the TII-5GM?

Regardless, looks like a great horn at a good price.

Good grief - what made what must be a fine state-of-the-art trombone not "fit" with the section?

Did the conductor or your section mates complain? Did you try different mouthpieces?

What trombone / mouthpiece combination did you switch to that fits better? :idk:

It was more of the brightness/protection it produced. It's a great horn, but it didn't do quite as well with that section. I think it would make a great solo horn or possibly a great principal horn. This is by no means the sections fault. They are a great group of guys that play phenomenally! I did try other MP's, and it didn't give me the results I wanted. My former teacher who is in the NSO and the section members of the BSO all agreed I needed some new equipment. It took a year and a half to realize it myself after battling it out fundamentally and then with some MP changes.

I switched to a Bach Strad Centennial Model with the open flow after trying dozens of horns with one of the BSO section members and we both agreed it was a well rounded horn that would be good for almost any use. I'm using a DE 102/xtG/custom backbore MP. So far, this combination has produced what I have been looking for in auditions and section playing.

Good for you. Glad to hear that there's nothing wrong with this trombone. And that you have supportive section members.

Best wishes for selling the Shires at a fair price - and for your career. :good:
