Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has come up with an elegant solution for Conn 88s to prevent the bell lock from moving back and forth (when not attached to the slide) and scratching the instrument. The horn ships with a little foam ring to protect it from moving but that’s not a lasting solution. Thanks!

Simple O ring from the plumbing section of your local big-box hardware store?

seems like an 'O' ring would work like the foam thingy. You have to move it back and forth as you screw the lock on and off. what is wrong with using the foam thingy? It works for me.
