Any opinions of the Yamaha YSL200AD?

There is one locally going for $100. From what I read on Yam's website, it is slotted at the bottom below the YSL354. It is built in China and has a nickel silver outer slide. Is it up to the Yamaha standards, or is it just another TSO with a Yamaha name on it? :???:

I would pay $100 for it just to find out.

It's the same as the 354 just renamed for music stores. It's a great horn, actually my first horn.

Cool. A buddy of mine has a Chinese TSO that is falling apart. I loaned him (reluctantly!) my King 2B for a gig and he got spoiled. He wants to upgrade, but on a tight budget. He has no car and apparently no computer skills so I am helping in the search.

This.
It is the exact same horn. It is sold only through Yamaha's affiliated full service "brick and mortar" stores. Yamaha does not allow it to be sold online (new). (which I think is a decent thing for Yamaha to do help out "the local music shop"). Dealers are able to sell it for about the same price as discount outfits can sell the 354.
It comes with a nicer case than than the 354. Not better, just a little snazzier.

It's a Chinese made 354. Don't let that bother you.
1) The Chinese can make good stuff if you ask them and pay.
2) Yamaha's Chinese products are just as good as their Japanese products because they own and run their Chinese factories.
As said before, the 200 is sold through small, local independent stores and is priced to be competitive. One in decent condition plays just like a 354. $100 seems like a bargain if it hasn't been sat on.
