I posted about this horn the other day. I picked it up and then brought it to the shop without playing it first (my mistake). The shop removed the lacquer, hammered out a few very small dents, did a full clean, and it’s back in action. Unfortunately when I got it home, I realized that the valve is leaky. I initially said it was toast and now having spent time playing it, I think that it definitely still needs to be replaced, but it could be used for a time before doing so. Essentially any note lower than F below the staff being played with the valve is very airy. Anything in the staff and above is fine. I feel like there may be a bit of air leaking out for open notes, but it’s not terribly noticeable.

So here’s the deal. If someone would like to buy this horn for $1150 — which is what I have in it, and that includes shipping to you in the lower 48 - I’ll sell it. If I don’t get any bites at that price then I’ll probably keep it and do the Instrument Innovations valve upgrade in the future. I figured if someone else wanted to give it a go, I’ll let them have it and maybe they can get the valve upgrade done more cheaply, or go in a different direction. It really is as nice as the pictures make it look (but remember, no lacquer - these pics were taken this morning with no lacquer on the horn). It includes a case - it’s old but functional for shipping. PM or email, both work.

EDIT: I initially said I was open to trades but the only trade I’d be tempted by is a Rath R4F (with cash on my end) or Yamaha Xeno - and even then, I’d probably prefer a cash sale.

Everything replied to - and I appreciate the trade offers. I think I would prefer an outright sale after thinking about it - I probably have too many horns sitting around as it is.
