Performance

Should we add a performance section or clarify (and possibly append) Music Business to include such subjects? (Someone pointed this out in the suggestions section a moment ago). I think Music Business & Performance are very related but I can see having a separate forum for both. E.g. Should I play alto on the bass trombone part in Shostakovich since it's written in alto clef?

Right - we both saw that topic. Now, let's see what others say and if there is real demand. I can see a case made for it.

I think it would be a good idea. People got used to that on TTF.

I'm in favor personally. I'm just not sure whether it would be so different from Music Business as to constitute a separate entity. I think it should, but I'm a sucker for data partitioning.

I am also in favor of data partitioning - let's balance that with sprawl.

When I see "Music Business" I think of things like getting gigs, organizing gigs, dealing with venues and copyright houses, etc. Not things that seem to gravitate to a "Performance" heading. For "Performance" I think of things like "how do you practice the leaps in Schumann Rhenish" or "how to play the Bartok Gliss".

I vote for a Performance board.
