Hi all,
I’m looking to sell this horn for $3500. I bought it 2 summers ago, and it’s been a fantastic horn. It has a wonderful, open sound. The valves are great, and the slide is perhaps one of the best I’ve ever played on. I took the lacquer off of this horn about a year and a half ago. The patina is great, and every now and then I’ll clean it up and let it shine for a few days.
Dual bore slide, and the usual Edwards edge bracing.
The bell is cut. The horn was in some form of airline accident, and the previous owner had it cut rather than replacing the whole bell. It comes with a cut bell case, which is smaller than some viola cases in my school’s orchestra! It fits into almost everywhere I’ve put it. One of the patches for the backpack straps has been wanting to come loose for the past couple of weeks. I’m sure it’s an easy fix, just haven’t had time. Too busy with work....
I added two keys on. The Amado key on the end of the handslide, and I had a Saturn key installed on the F valve, as I had quite a bit of water building up at the bottom of the pipe. The Saturn key has worked great, but I don’t have too much water building up anymore! I also had two small rods added to the bell section nut to let me screw it into the slide tighter. The threads are just beginning to wear down, so this helps a lot.
The bell flare did have a pretty sizable crease taken out about a year ago, but my repair tech did a great job, and I actually can’t find signs of it, as I was going to include that in the pictures.
In the picture of the flare, it looks like there’s pitting or something like that, but I promise, it’s not. I just didn’t put too much effort in cleaning the flare a few weeks ago. It’s purely cosmetic
It comes with a B2 Edwards leadpipe
This horn is really great. I would 100% keep it, but I have a Bach 50 in the shop now that I’ve had put together. Time to give that a shot
I’m looking to sell this horn quick. I had a buyer lined up, but he backed out this morning. I fly out to Santa Fe for the Trombone Summit on the 23rd, So I would be willing to drive up to 4 hours from Louisville, KY before then to meet anyone. Just for a reference, Chicago, Indianapolis, Memphis, Knoxville, Nashville, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Dayton, and Cleveland are all within 4(ish) hours from Louisville.
I would prefer not to ship it, but I can. Email me for any questions on that.
Again, I really can’t say enough about this horn. It’s been great to get me through these last couple of years. Everyone who was played it has loved it!
I’m asking $3500 for the horn
Whew, I think that’s everything!
Please email me with any questions!
Thank you!
