You do realize that your asking price is higher than what these student horns retail for brand new, right?

Well, in their defense, there are a few of them going for $1,000 brand new, although I'm not sure if anyone is actually buying them that price. I agree that you may have more luck at a price closer to the other used ones that are being sold. Although every item is worth as much as the customer is willing to pay, but it'll be some tough competition with the other horns on the site

well what do you think a fair price would be? i just figured it’d be worth a bit more because of all the work that was put into the finish and such

The pitting on the cork barrels would be a turn off for me, personally. The satin is nice; you might be able to convince someone of the quality of the lacquer if you indicate how you did it. There is a reluctance to buy refurbished lacquered horns, especially on a horn like Yamaha where stock lacquer is usually impeccable. A nice, professionally done baked epoxy lacquer might be worth it. I don't know the going price for full refurb at the moment.
You might also do well just switching it to a 'make an offer' type auction, depending on your time-frame that you want this pushed. If you're really patient, it might eventually sell but it might not too; straight horns tend to go for cheap (I sold a Shires for ~$1400 a few months ago, incidentally also with a satin finish though no lacquer). YSL354s even moreso. You can find them used for $100 if you're patient, seems like $250 average. Again, don't know what full refurb cost is going for these days, but you're essentially charging $750-$900 for it, give or take. At least that's my 2c. Good luck selling it either way!
EDIT: Also just noticed that the crook is smashed. You'll probably want to replace that if you want anywhere close to that figure. Fortunately, the part is really cheap. Or rolling maybe, I can't tell from the picture. But someone buying this may well have to sink ~$150 in parts + labor to get that replaced + slight alignment.
Is that the best camera you have? It's a little grainy so it's hard to tell quality; something in higher definition is probably going to help push this better too because you're focusing on the aesthetics of the finish.
EDIT2: You also might want to picture the stockings. Those are probably the most important point as they can get worn out on these horns, particularly from students who don't do anything with their slide. If you can demonstrate on both sides that the chrome is fully intact that would help.

I've seen these usually go for around $100-300. As Matt said, you'd have to get the crook fixed to sell it for the absolute top price and and extra cost of lacquer may not being the price up that much. You could probably get $300-500 if you get the crook fixed since it looks to be in good condition

You might consider keeping this horn. They are great horns and this one is unique.
If you really want to sell it, be prepared to be less-than-thrilled with what you get. There are bazillions of 354's in existence, so they don't sell for much. A couple hundred, really.
If you insist on getting rid of it, I would lower your BIN price to something less of a turnoff to some people, like $500. And then accept any offer of $250 or more. Good luck however you do it!
