I'm considering selling my Benge 290 bass trombone. I bought this horn a few years ago and haven't used it as much as I would have liked. I'd like to see it used more so I'm considering letting it go. It's a fantastic horn that plays quite well!

This horn has two independent inline valves (F and Gb) and are fairly open as far as standard rotors go. Both valve linkages work well and I just had the F valve re-strung. Bore size is .562 and bell size is 10". All of the tuning slides move, but the F slide is a bit sluggish and it was actually stuck when I first got the horn. Usually I move it every time I play it so it doesn't get stuck again. The handslide is in fairly nice shape. No major wear spots on the inner tubes that I can see. Slide action is probably a good 7.5-8 out of 10. There is some lacquer wear on the outer slide, but no dents that I can see. Water key works well. There are a few dents throughout the horn's bell section but nothing major. Please note in the pic that there is one small brace that is starting to become separated from where it's supposed to be attached. It was like that when I bought the horn and doesn't seem to effect how the horn plays. Horn is fairly clean overall. Comes with a Benge case that is in fairly nice shape. It's a bit bulky but oh well. Stand is not included.

This horn plays very nicely with a great lower register. Would be a great choice especially for orchestra playing, but I would say it can be used in other settings as well. Price wise, I'm thinking $2100 with free shipping within the CONUS, but feel free to make an offer. International shipping is a possibility... Please PM me if you're interested and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Thanks for looking! :hi:
