Here for sale is a Conn 62H with independent valves which is in very fine condition with minimal wear. I attempted to establish the year of manufacture, but the lists available are not very reassuring. The closest I could guess would be 1986, but perhaps someone else with more expertise might be able to refine my guess. The Serial number 231XXX was found on the main bell brace. The horn has the usual detachable leadpipe setup which has two Conn leadpipes to be included in the sale. I found the instrument to be absolutely terrific when fitted with an Edwards #2 leadpipe [using an adaptor] and a "Sauer Brace" fitted to the lower part of the slide. The valves work quickly, quietly and with light effort and were aligned with the use of a borescope to insure accuracy. There is slight wear at the handgrip and on the lower slide where ones hand would rest while using the water key. There are a few small dings in the bell from mute changes and in the bottom bow which proved too small and difficult to photograph. First impressions of the horn are that it is an entirely new instrument. There is a slight dimple on the main tuning slide which was also impossible to photograph and which was probably incurred when the slide was out of the horn entirely being that it is nestled between the slides for the valves and less likely to see any damage. Slide is in great shape, probably a 9 out of 10 using YamaSnot, with slight signs of wear. I am selling it only because of recently purchasing a Butler C-12 bass because of its lighter weight. Priced at $2950 with Conn case [very substantial and in great shape]. Buyer pays shipping. Will ship only in CONUS. Use a PM to ask any detailed questions. Offers considered.

Did they make a 62H in 1986? It seems late for the tis models and I recall the new models being developed in the late 90s.
