I’ve decided to part with a Selmer Bolero I purchased recently. It’s a great horn, very lively and fun, but I just don’t seem to quite connect with .508” horns. I’ve had the same issue with 3Bs.

Serial number is 5xxx. Selmer numbers apparently are difficult to track, but my guess is that this horn is from the sixties.

It has an 8" bell. The horn is in very good shape, with only minor cosmetic issues commensurate with its age. It’s shiny, but not perfect. A few small pings here and there, but no major dents. Slide is clean and wear-free, a 9/10 when lubricated. The biggest cosmetic issue is some spots of lacquer bleed around the rim of the bell.

Overall this is a versatile and engaging horn. The previous owner described it as “sassy,” and I wouldn’t disagree with that characterization. It has good edge when you lean on it a little, which I really like.

It comes with the original Selmer case, which is in good shape and is very slim.

Asking $750 shipped CONUS.
