Tuning slide on Edwards B454 loose randomly.

I noticed yesterday the Tuning slide on my B454 is suddenly loose. Recently put a new bell on it and the tuning slide wasn't loose before until recently. Tried putting Bach slide grease on but now it just slide back in slowly. Didn't have this problem. The tuning slide doesn't feel loose when the legs are put in individually.
Also weirdly enough on the old bell the Getzen 3062 yellow brass was loose however on the new bell the 3062 tuning slide isn't. The loose tuning slide is however not loose on my Getzen3062.
I live in Florida so I doubt this could have been caused by temperature change.

Is this for a 3062 tuning slide, or a B454 tuning slide? Your question is a bit confusing.

Yes sorry, The Originall Rose Brass tuning slide for the B454 is loose on the Edwards Setup but not on my Getzen setup. The 3062 tuning slide works on both the B454 and Getzen 3062 setup. The Rose tuning slide was fine until just yesterday never had an issue with it being loose.

Did this happen right after you changed the bell on the B454? Could have just been the tuning slide area "breaking in". Have you tried a heavier tuning slide grease like the Ultra-Pure heavy?

Yes, I changed the bell on Saturday. It started slipping Wednesday. The heaviest I have right now is Bach but I will try Ultra-Pure when I get a chance.

It's probably unrelated, but my friend had his B454 fall on a stand recently and now his tuning slide falls in like you are describing.

What I suspect is happening is that the new tuning slide is perfectly aligned and parallel, so it slides in very easily. In general Main Tuning Slide tolerances on tuning slides with braces are not quite as tight, as when the tuning slide is made, the width cannot be precise maintained due to the bracing. So, the tubes themselves are not as tight as they could be, to avoid an extremely hard to move tuning slide.
I have a trombone where I had to have one of the tuning slide legs expanded, because after having my thayer valve refit, the geometry was slightly different, so the tuning slide receivers were completely parallel, and the slide would just keep falling in.

I've had this issue on mine. I just switched to hetman tuning slide grease which is super thick and that solved my problems.
