Mouthpiece replating

I have a small shank 52D I picked up from a forum member about a year ago that is a little worn. Scratches, nicks and general plating coming off. Is getting it replated going to help with any of the scratches? Will it get buffed?

Warburton does an excellent job!

In my experience mouthpiece makers don’t like to replace mouthpieces if they’re deeply scratched around the rim. It requires more buffing and that may change the shape of the rim too much.
It shouldn’t be an issue if it’s in pretty good shape.

John Stork at Stork Custom Mouthpieces does a phenomenal job, I've sent many mouthpieces to him to get goldplated, every piece looks top notch...and I'm usually overly picky when it comes to aesthetic.

Same for me - really good work, quick turnaround, and good price. Highly recommended.

I also have had Stork plate tenor, bass trombone, and tuba mouthpieces (in gold) for me. The turnaround is fast, and the workmanship is excellent!

I've sent 2 silver mouthpieces to Dillon Music to get gold plated. I was really happy with their work and how well they kept me in the loop during the process. Not sure if they're open at the moment for that though.

I sent a mpc to John Stork for replating and asked the little dings on the rim not be buffed out. The contour was just the way I like it. No problem, said John.

I will echo those who suggested John Stork. His gold plating is excellent and long lasting. Doug Elliott's gold plating is also excellent but I'm not sure he accepts outside plating requests. Dillon Music is okay. I used GoldChops once-amount of gold used was minimal.

Noah Gladstone does great plating as well.
He also has a ton of different options: silver, gold, rose gold, platinum, and rhodium.
Like others here, given the current coronavirus situation, not sure how much he's doing this instant.

I am still working and can do refinishing / replating in either silver or gold. I can't promise fast turnaround, however.

What would your cost be if i may put you in the spot. I have a Mt.Vernon mpc that needs a going over but would rather have someone that knows what they're doing than a guy who is just going to dip it.
