I just acquired a very old original Bach Corp. New York 22 trombone mouthpiece. I really don't know too much about what I have. I have seen reference to 22C or ...22SC but that is not what is printed on this particular piece. I am assuming it is from the mid 1940's but am not certain.

Are these old mouthpieces very desirable to anyone?

I have a NY 22SC that is in ridiculously good shape. I am playing smaller and smaller rims but this is way too small. Feels a size or 2 smaller than a 15, which makes sense.

I have mine for sale and have had little interest, so I guess that speaks for itself.

You can read here what Bach says about the 22.

I have a friend here in Calgary - a terrific jazz trumpeter who also plays bass trumpet (really well). He was looking for a new mouthpiece for his bass trpt., and I suggested the 22C based on the Bach catalog. He loves it, but he's coming from trumpet to double. I think anything in that size range is too small for most trombonists to get comfortable with. The 22 would have a deeper cup than the 22C. Is the SC even shallower?
