Bach 42B Valve Replacement?

The valve on my son's Corp Bach 42B has gotten a little wonky with age. It still works fine, albeit a bit noisy, but his instructor has said it will need to be replaced at some point or it may be better to eventually sell and replace with another corp bach 42. I see that instrument innovations sells a valve that is pre-configured for closed wrap 42b for $125. I don't see us taking care of this soon, but what would a tech typically charge for a straight up valve change that does not require any other modding? Also, any good techs out there near southern indiana?

Replacing the valve will do wonders for your sons 42B!
Labor would probably be in the $300 range, plus any parts that may need replacement.
Not sure who is near you, but shipping the bell section is not too expensive.

It'll be a whole new, better horn with the new valve. Totally worth it.

I replaced the valve on my 42BO recently with the Olsen Valve from Instrument Innovations.
Incredible upgrade and the horn plays better
