Do you have any more information? Bore size? Bell diameter? There are an awful lot of models that look like that.

The bell looks rather big. It looks like a 8.5" which indicate it is a large bore Bach 42 but who knows for sure. We need more information. It is easier to say what it is not.

I believe that may be a trombone.
Don't quote me on that.

I agree that the bell looks like it is 8.5". So, probably a 42?
Perhaps the only way to know for sure is to buy it!

Large looking piece receiver, short looking nick pipe, seems 42.

Hello,
I will measure the bell.
From the pictures I thought that is Stradivarius 42. But on the bell is not Stradivarius engraving. Just "Bach" like on Bundy models. But from other details looks not like Bundy model. so, I am a confused... :(

I can measure the bell... From the pictures, I thought that is Stradivarius Model 42, but on the bell is engraved just "Bach" logo. So, I am confused. But I am not an expert. From other details looks that this is not Bundy model.
How to measure the bore size?
Thanks for all answers!

Could you post an image of the logo? Is there anything engraved on the cork barrel or the slide receiver?

I've heard of new cheap fake Bach instruments too. The logo on the instrument should say stradivarius.

I had a 'soloist' that just had "Bach" engraved on the bell. It's possible you have a 42 body with a Soloist bell too.

The bell is 20,5 cm, this is around 8,1 inch.
Here are some more pictures:

I think is not fake.

Are there any engravings on the cork barrels or the slide receiver?

It could be one of the old Mercedes models, an intermediate grade horn.

I think the bottom line is that if it isn't engraved "Vincent Bach" in the usual script, it isn't a Stradivarius or a Mercedes. The only Bachs with "Bach" engraved on the bell that I know of are more modern and intermediate horns.

It does not look like a Stradivarus Bach. I guess it is a cheeper model. A lot of the plating is lost. I have a strad Bach 42 from the 80-ies. No plating loss what so ever. This could be a Chinese variant. An 8" bell indicates it is not a 42, could be a 6h.

With an 8" bell, that engraving, and the relatively wide grip I'd guess a Bach TB-200.

Matt K - at saturday I will have the instrument in my hands and I will look for engravings.
Kbiggs - from the pictures that I saw on Mercedes moders there is always "Mercedes" engraving on the bell.
greenbeam - yes is possible that is intermediate horn. But I can not discover which one.
imsevimse - I can not finds any picture of Bach 6h model...
BGuttman - yes TB-200 looks close. But there is ring on the slide of tb200 model. Also, on this instrument there are some nickel parts that are not usual for tb200 model. Nickel slide-receiver is more usual for Stradivarius model. I didn't see other models with nicke.-silver slide receiver. But I am maybe wrong because I am not expert...

Me bad <EMOJI seq="1f617" tseq="1f617">😗</EMOJI> , it's because they are none existent. There was something called Bach 6 but with a smaller bell compared to that. A 8" bell could be a Bach 12 but I think Bruce has got it right in his guesses. It is probably a cheap student Bach.

Ah I see, yeah let us know. I think my suspicion that this is a 'frakenhorn' still seems to have the most predictive power. I bet soemone trashed the bell and put another bell on it. But I could be wrong about that. If you see something like '42' on the body, then I think there's about a 99% chance that that's what happened.

Matt K, I think that you theory is not good :)
Just because there are two instruments like this.

Are there though? It seems to me that the particular engraving on the bell doesn't match the other features of other models. It's very possible I'm missing something though.

Also, the tuning slide receivers appear to be yellow brass and not nickel. And they lack the edge rings—can't recall what you call them.
