Hi
I have a trombone student in one of my schools( in England) aged 15, he is working on his grade 8 exam, parents are relocating to Texas in September and I would be grateful for possible recommendations for experienced trombone tutors in that area,
Many thanks
Alex.

If I were you, I'd call the Air Force band. The one for the southwest is stationed in San Antonio and has some excellent players in it. Some monsters with excellent backgrounds, as a matter of fact.

His high school band program may have a teacher that comes to the school to teach private lessons. Most Texas band programs in metropolitan/suburban areas have a strong private lesson program. Teachers are interviewed and approved by the band staff based on degrees and teaching/performance experience. The student/family pays for the lessons and most times the lesson can be once a week during the regular band class.
