Post 1908 (that's the invention date for the double brace although the patent date is 1913). This one looks High Pitch. In a modern ensemble it would be pitched in "B natural". Case looks pretty grim.
I own two of these: one High Pitch and one Low Pitch. The High Pitch one needs some work. The Low Pitch one is VERY uncomfortable to hold. Also, it's a little flat with the tuning slide all the way in. Daily player? No. Interesting as a piece of history? Yes.
