Hello,

I am looking for a mint condition, little used Urbie Green model Martin Trombone. I kept meaning to buy a back-up, because they come up often enough, but now that I absolutely have to have one (mine was just stolen from my car) there doesn't seem to be as many good options. If you have one and don't love it, or don't anticipate using it, please reply. Thanks!

Josh Landress has one at his shop; I used to own it. It’s a fine instrument, and Josh and his team have made tweaked it so it’s in excellent condition. It’s not listen on their site, but give them a call....

Thanks Steve!

I don't have Facebook. Maybe this is a reason to sign-up; incognito of course! I'll do so and check it out.

Hi Rusty,

Thanks for this. I actually saw this ad, but having seen so many ads that were closed or lapsed, I confused the pull down menu called 'Archive of Sold' at the top with something to do with this specific listing. I actually went to see the ad again, certain that you had it wrong. Boy was I happy when I discovered that it was me who got it wrong. Thank you for bringing it again to my attention. You rock! Now, if you could just do something about the exchange rate (CDN only .70 US).

Hi everyone,

Thanks again to Rusty for directing me to this instrument. I would have missed it otherwise. I did end up buying it.

I also want to say thanks to Doug Bert at The Brass Exchange who was amazing too. He was helpful and patient. We in Canada have a high price to pay for admission to the retail playground of our US neighbors, because you have the highest valued currency, and we are near the bottom amongst G7 countries. Some delicate...brokering goes a long way to help get us into the ball park; though we often don't have enough left over to play. If I was from virtually any European country, the cost of retail acquisition in the US would be very much easier.

Having said that...I still want a second Urbie, mint condition, and hopefully with a mint condition case (the instrument I bought had no case). They do come up from time to time, and now that I have one, I can afford to wait for you hoarders to let those instruments go that you are not be played, so they can get into the hands of non-collectors. I like to have one instrument in my office and an identical one at home so I don't have to transport.

Keep me in mind!

Tim
