I have a Greg Black 4G practice rim and a standard Schilke 51 mouthpiece. Would it be possible to thread them together, even though the GB rim is wider than the Schilke's cup diameter? Could the original 51 rim be salvaged as well? I imagine that might be destroyed in the process.

You can keep the rim OR the underpart.
