Chatters,
Who has knowledge as to fitting a Bolero
with 3B connections?
I’d like to keep the Bolero functioning - it’s a very good horn -
but occasionally using its bell on a 3B slide.
Thanks,
B-

Is the bell nut on the Bolero bell? If so you need to mod the King slide with a Bolero tenon.

I would take the Bolero slide and put on a King tenon w/ screw nut. The put a King threaded receiver on the Bolero bell.
So the Bolero would have a King Style set-up.
Then both bells and both slides would be interchangeable.
In theory it’s fine. Bore size for both is .508.
But it can’t be that simple. Nothing is.

For an experienced tech, yes, it probably is that simple.

[color=#0000FF]Wouldn't the unsecured nut rattle ?

The nut is on the tenon which is on the slide.
That’s the King setup and that’s what I’m hoping
can go on the Bolero slide. The replace the Bolero receiver
with a King receiver ( which has no nut ).

Are the Bolero and 3b the same length slide and bell? If not you can get tuning issues. Not really sure what you're hoping to gain by combining the 3b slide with the bolero bell.

I’m going to measure. Not sure how best to do that though.
I’ve been looking for a 3B yellow brass bell for my SSonic and everything is either beat up or too expensive. The Bolero bell really rings and responds nicely. So wanting to use the Selmer bell for the brass option while retaining the Bolero as a stand alone horn.
