Trying to date this bell section. It seems like early Elkhart, but there isn’t a serial number as I just have bell and not the slide. Does the absence of “USA” or “Made in USA” indicate a certain year? Is it a mistake? I have yet to find any 36 or 42 that is missing the USA part. Any input is appreciated!

I have a 4-digit serial Corp 36 and a couple Corp 50s, they both have USA underneath ELKHART, IND.

I'd assume yours is just missing that part, it certainly looks legitimate otherwise.

Just checked my stash, everything from early NY, through Mt V, Early Corp, '90s flares all have U.S.A. on the flare.

Dunno if that is an error or if there was a window without it,

This one may have slipped through post-engraving QC? :idk:

Went through the rest of the Bachs here, all have USA underneath. Another corp 36 I forgot about, 80s, 90s, 00s 42s.

Oh! And my 50G.

I might be getting deja vu but I would have sworn there was a topic about this on the old forums. I'm sure the topic is lost to time... but maybe this comment will jog someone else's memory.
