I didn't know the difference until my niece moved from Cleveland, Ohio to Vancouver, BC. Hope to visit her there someday. :hi: That said, local music stores often have teachers on site or can refer you to one. School band directors are also sometimes a source of teacher references. Me, I took lessons with trumpet and tuba players at a local music store who beginners on any brass instrument for the first four years I played and got the basics down, then lucked into a really good pro teacher who took me to the next level. I teach beginner trombone students privately on zoom. One of the things I focus on is motivation, which can be harder for a lot of younger students while they're still trying to get all of the technique. You can book through my website below.
