For sale is a Shires .547 tenor. This horn is in great shape. Bought used approximately 2 years ago and it has seen very little playing since I've owned it. Slide is 8/10. This bell/slide combo is the most common setup from the Shires shop and should fit the bill for most players.
There is a very small and hard-to-notice cosmetic blemish on the upper throat of the bell where a mouthpiece was inadvertently left loose in the case-the dent was removed and refinished at a local repair shop (pictured). Also pictured are common areas of wear on the slide.
Bell: 7YLW (T1 taper, modified two-piece soldered bell, yellow brass, lightweight)
Slide: TB47 (.547 bore with bass crook [squared Bach style])
Valve: Conventional rotor (CR)
#2 leadpipe
Rose brass tuning slide
$3,000. Shipping to continental US only--buyer pays shipping.
