Gauging interrest.

I have a bass that is collecting dust and will likely regret letting go but ... funds are needed to support other projects.

Slide - standard post corporation Bach 50 bass slide that has been to The Slide Dr. and plays very well - no lacquer

Valves - dependent open wrap with aftermarket nylon links on split triggers to keep it quiet - spotty lacquer

Bell - Willson 9-3/4" yellow brass - no lacquer

The bell plays great and the valves are open and free blowing. Slide is 8/10. Overall it feels like a Bach 50 but is easier to color the sound. I've used it for pits, orchestra and big band and am always able to get an appropriate sound without any fuss.

The bad - this is a project horn. There is a fair amount of solder work that will need to be done. I collected parts over the years and when I had a whole horn worth just friction fit it all together. One little piece of industrial double sided tape keeps the main bell brace attached to the bell. The main tuning slide was cut by the previous owner as he was having typical struggles with massive mouthpieces causing his instrument to drift flat. In reality, it likely needs a 3-4 hours of work by a competent tech to lock it into place and clean it up. I have played it as is for about 5 years and could continue to do so, but have not had a call for bass in over 2 years and have a 16 year old clarinetist in the house that needs among other horns a new R13 A clarinet.

I am open to offers, trades and parting out - and may in the end get it to a tech to finish and then re-list. Thanks for looking.
