For sale is an incredibly versatile instrument! The bell section is unlacquered and not as pretty, but a very good player. The slide is like new 9/10 with no catches or dings. It is an Edwards .525-.547" small shank slide. It really opens up the bell section when playing theater gigs or in a quintet, but can still keep that tight sound when needed if you're playing 3rd/4th on those old Basie charts!

Is this a straight 36b or does it have a valve?

I believe the b part of 36b implies close wrap with a rotary valve.
