Just spotted this, looks an interesting intrument and I've never seen a trigger mechanism like that before.

The seller makes wonderful use of the English language in his description of it...worth £1500 though?

It's a collector Ross....probably smaller bore. Fair price for a very tidy antique....I doubt that it would be a useful player. I would love to know the specs.

Best info I can find for a similar model is [url]<LINK_TEXT text="https://horn-u-copia.net/cgi-bin/yabb2/ ... 47333089/1">https://horn-u-copia.net/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1247333089/1</LINK_TEXT> which claims 9" bell and [url=https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwiVvYOTvsTtAhULPK0KHQ7mDeYQFjAAegQIBRAC&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.yeodoug.com%2Farticles%2FYeo_ITAJ_July_2015_Double_Valve_Bass_Trombone.pdf&usg=AOvVaw2L8QE9uodrXHZBPSI1PT0n]Doug Yeo's article citing 0.530 bores in Holton basses of around the right time period.

Looks very interesting, would love to toot on it. Can't imagine finding a practical use for it or spending that kind of money (since I currently have neither the inclination nor the resources to take up collecting as a hobby).

This is a rather old instrument.

The friction fit between bell and slide means you have to be careful moving it around, especially inserting and removing mutes.

The flat wrap F-attachment means it cannot be adjusted to flat E to get low B natural.

It is in very nice condition and would probably be worth the 1700 pounds to a collector.

As a daily driver? No.

The vendor deals in older instruments. Incidentally, it's marked up with an inscription that looks like "Bay Rdrk - Inv. Nr. 9138"
