Looks nice. I've been considering an Axe Handle for a while now, just haven't decided to let loose of the coin...

Those Ax Handles are great and are what I use for my .547 tenor and bass.

Please consider that the Axe Handle is made by a small shop in Wisconsin, USA. It is his design, and he makes it and stands by the product.

Sierman shamelessly copies other people's ideas and designs, and makes them in China.

Please choose wisely.

Please delete. Wasn't aware of Sierman's reputation.

That entirely depends on if the axe handle is still protected by a patent. If not, it is neither illegal, nor shameless.

I'm not saying "don't support US, small businesses", far from it, but since I couldn't find the patent info for the axe handle, I couldn't agree if they are actually "copying" or not. The facts aren't all here.

I mean... Sierman is the company copying Edwards, Schagerl, Sheridan Get-A-Grip, Greg Black mouthpieces, and this axe handle. Complete shameless copies. I don't think there's another way to put it.

Is it jinbao? Are the copies good?

Wessex made carbon copies of king instruments.

Jinbao makes copies of Kunl and Hoyer altos, among other things.

Yamaha made carbon copies of Conn instruments.

I'm fairly certain that boutique mouthpiece makers make carbon copies of certain Bach mouthpieces as a point of pride.

It's all wrong and shameless.

They are copies of current manufacture boutique instruments and mouthpieces. They're good copies... not sure what that changes though.

I've played the horns, in some cases I've even liked the Sierman version more than the original! They use real Rotax and Hagmann valves, as well.

But that doesn't make it any less shameless and scuzzy.

No clue. I wouldn't ever get one, but I already have 2 from Sheridan so I'm a bit privileged in that respect.

Newell is still making his Get a Grip. You just have to contact him...

On the get a grips, I got a Sierman... the padding is thinner than what I can see from the pictures on Newell website. And probably not deer skin either. But it works.

I got a Sierman, because Newell doesn't ship to Europe.
