Any chance an MB rim can fit an SB cup?
Yes, but there is a slight overhang from the edge of the rim to the inside of the cup. You might find it a little annoying. Going from smaller series rim to larger (MB -> LB for example) the cup is wider at that point but the other direction (MB -> SB) the cup diamter is smaller than the diamter of the edge of the rim so you might be able to feel it depending on how deep your lips protrude into the cup.

I think Matt misunderstood and has it backwards. An MB rim screws onto an SB cup but there would be a ledge where the top of the SB cup shows. Plays fine, you can get an MB cup later if you want it to match better.
